medicine: surgery in ancient egypt was very advanced

Surgical and medical techniques in Egypt 3700 years ago were very advanced and scientific (that's a LONG time back .. hundreds of generations). They knew about immobilization, about looking for a pulse, antiseptics, anasthetics, they even knew that when you have a fever that you should take antibiotics (which they correctly identified). Evidence of this can be found in an ancient papyrus fragment, which was probably authored by Imhotep. Out of the 45 treatments we see, in only one treatment case do they add a call to divine forces (the ninth case). That case is severe head trauma ... which quite frankly is not too far from what we could do even today - it can uplift a person's mood .. which is important in head trauma recovery.

Check out a translation of the Edwin Smith papyrus and some of the treatments here:

(Unfortunately we don't have all of the text of this papyrus... so some of its ancient medical practices are lost to history)

Wow! Am very impressed! Didn't read all of it, but (other than the laying of fresh meat) sounds a lot like what we do today!
